H1N1 Virus  -- Updated November 6

The H1N1 virus is now circulating widely throughout our communities.  School District No. 57 has developed and implemented a pandemic response plan that will work in conjunction with the Ministry of Education's pandemic response framework.  School district staff are working closely with representatives of the Northern Health Authority to monitor and manage the impact of the pandemic on the district's schools and communities.

The continued belief is that individual school closures, or community- or province-wide closures, would not be useful in controlling the spread and impact of this virus. Any decisions to close schools will be made by provincial and local medical health officers on a case-by-case basis.

In cooperation with medical officials we are monitoring absentee levels of both students and staff on a daily basis.
